AFITA Online Forklift Safety Seminar
Following the success presentation of Forklift Safety Week via online webinar the Australian Forklift and Industrial Trucks Association (AFITA) has decided to present regular online Safety Seminars.
Forklift Capacity Plates
Presenter: Mike Croxford, Crown Equipment
Moderator: Craig Williams, Clark Equipment
Australian Standard compliant forklifts are required to have capacity plates placed in a position where they can be seen from the operator’s position. They show the maximum load limits for a forklift under various configurations of mast tilt and load heights and in combination with attachments.
From time to time the AFITA publishes guidance notes on a range of topics with relevance to the safe use of forklifts (industrial trucks). The Association has recently published another in this series of Guidance Notes: Load Capacity Information Guidance Paper- Counterbalance Forklift Truck
In this seminar we will discuss the Load Capacity Plates and how to interpret them; and present the new Guidance paper.
Who should attend? – The information presented is essential knowledge for workplace health and safety managers, operations managers and machine operators.
The seminar will be presented using the Zoom conferencing platform. The seminar will be approximately twenty minutes in duration, consisting of 15 minutes of presentation and 5-10 minutes of questions.
